Lorraine's journey in Med Comms started in 2013 as a Commissioning Editor at F1000Prime

It is here that Lorraine also recieved her Editorial training before moving to Map of Medicine where she wrote and edited care pathways for NHS Care Trusts in her role as Scientific Editor

Lorraine quickly realised that improving the lives of patients gave her a daily pep in her step

Lorraine also loved that she got to learn about medicine everyday and enjoyed making this information digestible for doctors, but felt the role was missing a certain je ne sais quois

Lorraine needed a career where she could flex her creative muscles whilst keeping everything she loved about writing care pathways so she decided to give agency life a try

Lorraine joined Darwin as an Associate Medical Writer in 2016 where she found her true calling and quickly progressed to Medical Writer

No longer divided between her creative and scientific selves, Lorraine had found her true vocation

In 2019, Lorraine yearned for a new challenge and accepted the role of Senior Medical Writer at 90TEN

Here, Lorraine grew her experience and expertise across further therapy areas and deliverables, and showed a great aptitude for mentoring and coaching

The next couple of years were weird for everyone

Between 2020 and 2022, the world epxerienced a relentless onslaught of challenges

Instead of dwelling on hard times, why not take this opportunity to take a deep breath and look at the cute dog?

Lorraine emerged from the pandemic in awe of the innovative problem solving she had seen

Lorraine is proudly disabled and neurodivergent, both of which have gifted her with her own unique problem-solving abilities

The final piece of the puzzle was the tremendous and inspiring global adoption of innovative, flexible and brave attitudes to tackling challenges, no matter how big or small

In the Spring of 2022, Lorraine launched her own Medical Writing business!

Lorraine has a tenacious passion for making science beautiful and accessible and is driven everyday to improve the lives of patients. She needed a new challenge to pour this energy into where a culture of embracing progress, creativity and diversity were at the core and starting her own business was the perfect opportunity!

Lorraine is continuously exploring new ways to side-step the barriers put in her way by her disability, an extremely debilitating disease known as myalgic encephalomyelitis

The creation of M3  Medical Writing is a testiment to the ways that innovative thinking and modern technology can help to overcome diffcult, pressing societal challenges such as ableism

Lorraine brings a rare perspective to the role through her lived experiences as a myalgic encephalomyelitis patient

Sadly, M.E. patients have been neglected and abused with experts describing their treatment as a medical scandal

But Lorraine is galvanised to flip the narrative and use the experiences of her and her community to improve outcomes, and ultimately the lives, of all patients
